WHAT ARE THE ADVANTAGES OF NITRILE GLOVES?
Nitrile gloves have many advantages. From an allergy perspective, many people have developed allergies to latex. It irritates their skin and prevents latex glove usage or requires them to wear cotton gloves as a first layer. Nitrile is a synthetic polymer that does not have this significant problem.

ARE LESS AND LESS PEOPLE USING RUBBER GLOVES?
Commercially, natural rubber is obtained almost exclusively from Hevea brasiliensis, a tree from South America. Natural rubber is made by extracting a liquid sap, called latex, from these trees that grow wild up to 34 meters. The natural rubber industry is associated with widespread environmental and labor rights abuses. Moreover, the Mayo Clinic describes latex allergy that may cause itchy skin and hives or even anaphylaxis, a potentially life-threatening condition that can cause throat swelling and severe difficulty breathing. Furthermore, Nitrile is a stronger, higher-quality glove compared to latex.
HOW ARE NITRILE GLOVES MADE?
Nitrile is a synthetic copolymer, chemically formed through the combination of acrylonitrile and butadiene. For this reason, nitrile gloves were initially more expensive than latex, as several extra steps were needed to produce these gloves. Today, larger volumes and technological advancements have reduced the price of nitrile gloves to prices close to rubber gloves while providing lower allergy and more robust gloves.
ARE LYDUS NITRILE GLOVES POWDER FREE?
Yes, Lydus gloves are powder free. Disposable gloves are sold with powder and powder free. Nitrile powder free gloves are produced using a powder free formulation. This process decreases the risks associated with a skin reaction to powder and prevents cross-contamination from the powder when the gloves are removed.
ARE LYDUS NITRILE GLOVES LATEX-FREE?
Yes, Lydus nitrile gloves are latex-free. The synthetic process to produce these gloves enables a latex-free production environment, thus providing a great alternative to those whose bodies identify latex as a harmful chemical.
